"works great"
Pros: small, yet not too small. photos look good.
Cons: video requires a good bit of memory
Summary: after a good bit of research, i finally settled on the exilim z600. i was also looking at the s600 and z850. i found this camera to be a happy medium. the z600 is small enough to fit in my pocket (same thickness as my cell phone). i thought the s600 was just too thin.
the 33 best shot settings are pretty good. i don't know too much about adjusting manual features, but this feature makes sure you have the right setup for the right photo (though, my main setting is usually snapshot).
i'm not that picky about photos, but they look excelent to me. 6 megapixels is more than enough for me. it does take some time to save the pictures, so if you plan to take several pictures real quick(without the use of rapid fire function), you will need to lower your quality.
the video is nice tv quality. the video plays great in the camera, but in my experience, requires a lot of memory on my computer. i have to play the movie, its choppy and the second time i play it, its fine. this is okay for 30 sec video, but for 3 minute video, it really gets old. the size of video is also huge (1 GB for 15 mins at highest quality). this camera uses m-jpeg which looks like it is trying to overtake mpeg-4, but it doesn't look like its going to happen.
