"capability is inverseley proportionate to the size"
Pros: size, live histogram, manual controls, grids, LCD size
Cons: only a 3x optical
Summary: The total package of available features makes this an outstanding camera for every level of ability. The metering system is very good as is the auto focusing. The abundance of worthwhile features is amazing when you compare it to the size of the camera. My digital rebel is not nearly as feature rich as this little baby, and the metering here is far better. The ability to have a focusing/compositon grid like a view camera's is a surprising luxury. Very well made and designed.Updated
This is my 2nd one, I sort of misplaced the first. This camera does almost everything well and what it doesn't do great, neither do the other cameras in its class. Features are unbelievable for such a small camera. My digital Rebel can't do some of the things this baby can. And yes, it does have full manual control and flash exposure control (not on the Rebel), Exposure comp plus a host of other features as well. A very impressive and well designed camera.
The only thing I would want to improve upon would be less noise at the higher ISO settings, but then again, all cameras (except D-SLR) suffer from that problem. I would rate this as a 9.6 and my Rebel 300 as a 7.8.
