"Just OK, but that's about it."
Pros: Small, light and easy to carry. Large LCD screen
Cons: No viewfinder, battery does not clip in and battery compartment can be accidentally opened easily
Summary: I had a Canon S30 before this, and I think the S30 took better pictures than the DSC-T1, even at 3 Megapixels vs. 5 for the Sony. In low light, the Sony flash does not illuminate any subject beyond about 8-10 feet. Pictures of people in a restaurant booth will result in the people nearest the camera being illuminated, and the ones farthest away will be darker and blurred if they moved. The battery is not held in place with any clips or even with friction. The battery compartment is easy to accidentally open, resulting in the battery dropping out of the camera. The lack of a viewfinder causes the photographer to hold the camera away from him/her. Not being able to steady the camera against your face while looking through the viewfinder results in some camera shake and unwanted movement. In low light, the lack of a viewfinder requires that the photographer use the pre-flash orange light to frame the subject(s) before shooting. This takes some practice and can be disconcerting, and also esult in some camera shake and unwanted movement
