Pros easy to use
Cons poor image quality; poor customer service
Summary I was using this camera with Windows till I bought a Mac Mini in March. I downloaded EasyShare for the Mac but I could not get it to work - transferred images were corrupt. Customer service for the problem was poor.
Then a week or so ago, I received an email from Kodak saying that EasyShare had been updated for Windows (no mention of the Mac). I downloaded anyway and the problem was fixed. Still I was not impressed with the whole episode.
Also as noted in the main review, image quality is bad when you zoom - some very weird compression artifacts even if you have set the option for highest-quality images.
Pros I dropped my first one in the lake. Sent it in for repair and they replaced it no problem. I have a 6 month old and I love that we can flip from pix to video instantly.
Cons When carrying it in my bag something hits it just right an turns on the camera exposing the lens. I always carry it in a case now.
Pros I love the camera. It is my first digital camera and I have had a lot of fun with it. Easy to use, great pictures, except when there is too much light.
Cons The battery door broke (crumbled) before the camera was a year old. During the holidays it was impossible to get thru on the phone. I emailed, but the link they sent didn't work. Finally got the camera to Kodak's repair service. Big surprise, Kodak do
Pros Fast, easy to set up and use, has always worked fawlessly in some pretty harsh condition. Docking station outstanding also. Get one of these!
Cons Would have included the chip for additional shots in the package. Early Easy Share software was a mess, much better these days. My hands are somewhat crippled from injuries--would have appreciated a rougher griping service.
Pros LCD display, size and general ergonomics are pluses.
Cons Poor support from Kodak (battery door broke, they want $135 to fix). The round-wheel style mode selector appears to be designed to fail in a finite period of time (planned obsolescence?) Absolutely unacceptable close-up shots (do I need more MPs? better z
