"Love the camera - wish the package lens was better"
Pros: Compatible with previous Canon EOS 35mm cameras
Cons: package lens NOT compatible with previous 35mm bodies
Summary: Overall this is all that I expected. I own a 35mm EOS Elan II and all of my lens' fit and work perfectly. the controlls are basically the same so the learning curve was shortened. I am not happy with the fact that the lens sold in the package only works with the digital and not with the 35mm. If I would have done a little more research, I would have bought the body and a separate USM lens. The package lens is not a USM lens. This is another downfall to the package. It works fine and the optics are very good. However, someone investing this amount of money may want to consider a better, faster, quieter lens. The battery life is great. I have not yet found the need to buy a second. Overall 2 thumbs up.
if you are new to the SLR style, get the package. If you are an old-time 35mm photographer, spend a little more and buy the body and pick a lens.
