"I don't leave home without it!" on
Summary: I didn't do much research before we went browsing one day. I thought digital cameras were still beyond my price range. With a holiday special in-store rebate at Radio Shack and a mail-in rebate offer (for which I'm still waiting), it put this camera in my pocket and it nows goes out the door when I do. It's extremely easy to use and downloading to my computer is a snap, although you need to read the instructions carefully the first time or two. I have WindowsXP Pro and downloaded a software patch from the Fugi website and all works well. Although I feel I got a good value with the camera, as with many things, the accessories will eat up those savings in a hurry. When I bought the camera I immediately upgraded to a 32mb chip and put the 16 in my purse. I haven't needed it yet. I also agree it sucks battery life like a vampire after blood. I bought a high-end recharger and two sets of batteries and rotate them. It would be nice if Fugi included the optional AC adapter for when things are connected to the computer. Saves battery life and no unexpected losses of pictures while downloading. I keep the camera's settings in the mid-quality range area since most of what I take pictures of would be the equivalent of snapshots at a picnic. They are still a comfortable size to send with emails and on my Canon S750 (with photo paper) they print 4x6s like they just came from the film developer. The LCD is almost impossible to see in daylight so don't try, and I also agree the camera is not real happy in low light situations without some external help. Nice thing about any digital camera - if you don't like the picture just delete it and try again! No waiting to get film pictures back from the developer just to see you have a palm tree growing out of your relative's head and paying for that print to boot! Enjoy!!

"Complete piece of crap" on
Summary: Ended up buying two of these cameras in two months...well, I should say I bought one and replaced one (which is going back to the store tomorrow). The power system fried itself on the first one after two weeks, and on the second camera after FIFTEEN photos! Fuji technical support and repair is completely and totally USELESS - sent the first one back to Fuji - waited a month and got it back to find that it hadn't even been looked at - it still did not work. Second camera may have been a refurbished camera sold as new by either Fuji or Radio Shack, as the camera was in the box with batteries and Smart card INSTALLED. I will NEVER buy a Fuji product again.

"Good for First Camera" on by lowter
Pros: Easy to use, no problems, clear photos
Cons: Bad shutter speed, not many options
Summary: This was my first digital camera (and so far I still use it) and it worked fine. It was in my price range and I read some pretty good reviews on it around the web.
After using it for almost two years (I know, I need a new one) I've come to really like the camera. It easily fits in my pocket and comes equip with enough features to get by. The zoom isn't all that good, but I can easily zoom in using Photoshop if I need to later on.
The shutter speed is the only thing I don't like. Anything in motion is hard to get a nice picture of. Still things like scenery and people posing produces a crystal clear image.
So if you're looking for a non-expensive camera this one will work fine. -
"Great Little Camera, I love it." on by Rickko
Pros: Great Pictures, easy to handle.
Cons: The :15 video has no sound.
Summary: This is a great little camera. I purchase it almost two years ago and I love it. I just got a 128 mb card and now I can take upward of 300+ pictures. It's my first digital camera. My next digital camera will also be a Fuji!
