"Oh my goodness, what is cnet thinking?" on
Pros: Picture quality, ease of use, 2 rechargable aa batteries last forever or at least for 200 or so pix. This camera is the best value out there right now, I believe. Read dpreview.com which I believe gave it a more reasonable review, with all due respect to
Cons: none, really.

"The pictures just don't look as good" on
Pros: Big screen is a big plus. You can change the flash strength, which is cool. It remembers that you want to keep the LCD off to save batteries, very cool
Cons: The pictures just don't turn out well. Too high contrast, too low light sensitivity, doesn't play well with the flash, lots of noise from the CCD (pics are grainy) Complete review at http://ben.hartshorne.net/ran dom/fujirant.html

Cons: Flimsy output cover, so what my old Oly had none.

"Great camera with some flaws" on by cjmara805
Pros: Great photo quality, easy to use, awesome macro mode
Cons: Slow flash recharge, crappy zoom, took AA batteries which died quickly with the use of flash.
Summary: This was my first digital camera and I thought it to be a pretty good camera. It was easy to use in auto mode but then if you wanted to, there were many settings you could alter to get the right photo. It took pretty clear shots in bright light or with the flash, but in dimmer light my shots were blurry. It had an awesome macro mode though, took some gorgeous macro shots.
The problems I had with this camera was the pop-up flash got stuck sometimes and I had to pry it out with my fingernail, then the flash would take 10 seconds or so to warm up (and then 10 seconds between shots to recharge it); and then the slider switch from view mode to taking pictures mode got frozen and stopped working. I had to return it after 6 months for a new camera (I got upgraded to the Fuji F10). -
"Great product" on by jmajor
Pros: Nice picture, fast flash refresh rate (with good batteries)
Cons: Slow flash refrech rate (with duracell batterie) optical zoom little too short
Summary: Great camera for the price. Take beautiful pictures. Good design. Intuitive use (My wife manage to use it in 2 minutes without reading the manual). One small problem I find out is that with duracell batteries you cannot take lots of pictures(60) and the flash refresh time is way too long. I try with Centrios Tri-Athlete Batterie (available in RadioShack in Canada)the refresh rate became very fast and I was able to fill a 256MB card. The picture are beautiful with good skin tone. The Macro and the SuperMacro Works Like a charm (For the superMacro you do need a tripod)It replace a Sony CyberShot DSC-P8 that was one of the worst camera I have own(This one took bad picture the flash was almost useless, you need to use a tripod if you want picture that are not fuzzy..I gave to my 10 year old nephew even he did'nt use it long and he finaly replace it with a Centrios 99$ camera that he got at radioshack that took good picture).
