"THE perfect pocket camera, & more..."
on by IZZEis the wordPros great snap shots, long battery life, vivid color and video capture
Cons few manual controls, not-so-great low light shooting, 3x optical zoom
Summary I love to see how throughly C-net reviews all of these products, but I some times feel they are way too harsh, & always want the high end features in EVERY item they review...the 6 score does not do this camera justice!... I digress,
This camera is fantastic!! Very compact and slim, & ready to shoot out of the box. The 2+ inch LCD has a high resolution for its size, and can be seen in direct sunlight quite well. There is no viewfinder, but it is not necessary with the 2.2in screen. We have no problems taking photos indoors or out, but there is some definate shading issues with low-light areas, & I mean LOW light (moonlight or less).
The picture quality is perfect, especially for a point & shoot camera (6MP). It even shoots video, and quite well. I was suprized to find that the mic would pick up clear sound from about 15 ft away.... bravo!
For a camera enthusiast (I own 6 cameras: 3 digital, 2 SLR, and 1 vintage), I love this camera. Sure you can not tweak the ISO settings that well, and there are just basic scene settings, etc, but that is not what this camera is about. It's about taking a light weight, slim, high picture taking quality camera out for the day!
The editing software is fair, but you can find great after market APPs that will do the job better than any proprietary one will do anyway. And you can't beat the $, as most 6MP with the features this has will generally run $400+.
If you are looking for a really nice vacation or day camera, this is defintely the one... take it from someone who carries at least one camera with him every where in the world.... Cheers. -

"Nice Little camera"
on by jj0523Pros reasonalby easy to use
Cons scene modes don't really work
Summary i've had this camera for about 3 months now. in general it works well. i've been happy with the shutter speed and have founds ways to get good pics.
the scene modes don't work, at least for me. the portrait mode always comes out blurry, i have no idea why. the snow/beach one does work well.
i really wish that i was able to change the aperture and shutter speed; but that's generally something you only get with a fancy camera.
the video quality is good. the sound gets weird if it's too loud or high pictched. as far as the picture quality goes; it's awesome.
overall i am happy with it. -
"First DigiCam - Satisfied with results so far"
on by ToofaaniReviewPros Big viewfinder:i mean lcd, video quality is good, easily placed buttons, good grip, picture quality is fantastic in daylight, in dark lit areas party scene or auto gives good quality,
Cons no in built red eye reduction, no video zoom, number of scenes less compared to some other models,
Summary while i have been looking for sometime to get my first digicam, one of my friends reffered me to fuji website, looked over there and looking at F470 I knew this is going to be my cam for the coming time. In the last 15 days I must have taken some 1500 pics from this cam and I am satisfied with the performace. It has got the perfect grip for my hand, neither to slim nor to big. the buttons are placed at right position for me to change the option just using the thumb. the video gives good quality picture, though as it is nornal, night movie is dull. One thing missing is video zoom. In the imaging section I have taken closeups, long shots, scenes, night shots, b&w, total dark room. Pics come good in all of them. Dont think of capturing the entire hall full of people in dim lit area. But in morning works fine. I got 512mb of card, generally i have around 150 pics or so and rest is in video this is on single charge on the battery. If you plan to go for 1gb module, got for extra battery as well. Didnt get much chance to use the provided software for redeye reduction, however would have loved the in built feature of red eye reduction. As any time you go for close up in dim lit area, straight for the face or people looking right in front of the camera you gonna get red eyes. Though I tend to change the angle of camera and take care of that as well. Apart from that if my dad can use it, it means it is easy to use. And I am loving it and carry where ever I am going.

"Its my first camera"
on by komradkylePros Very Slim, stylish, connects well to PC
Cons Not sure about image quality, buttons are kinda small
Summary I really can't compare this camera because it is my first digital camera, I was dissapointed to see the review of 6/10 but if this is your first camera and you only have like a basic college photo arts corse its good.
