"I am happy with this camera, it takes great pictures"
Pros: Zoom,Face Detection, viewfinder screen and LCD, 4 AA Batteries
Cons: No Zoom while recording Video ( have to pause)
Summary: I did a lot of reading on this Camera, and in some cases I wondered if it was the right choice. Many reviews noted ther is no optical stabilizion particularily when zooming, but I tested it and I was able to take good pctures....most likely not as good if there is too much movement.
The camera is easy to use and has many manual options that I still need to explore, but I like the fact that they are there.
The face detection is pretty good, cool the way you can watch it put boxes around faces and then watch it remove red eye.
One thing in particular that I liked that many cameras in this range did not have is a second screen in the form of a view finder....this is great when it is sunny out and there is too much glare on screen ( you switch between this view).
Another bonus is the fact that it takes 4 AA bateries, which allows you to take many more pictures without switching and is not as expensive as "vendor proprietery batteries" ( and more common).
There is a panoramic option which works pretty good, it has a preview that gives you an overlay of the previous image so you can line up...you have to get used to it and is sometimes hard to see.
The video is good, except you can't zoom when recording.
Macro Mode is quite good, I was able to take some good closeups.
The shape fits comfortably in your hand and even though some complain about no place for you left hand, it's really no big deal.
There are several continous shooting modes
I found the shutter a little laggy, but that depends on the settings also.
For $ 239 CAD (May 2008) it was a good buy, there is so much to look at when chosing a camera, I don't think you will be dissapointed with this camera unless your a real "photo" freak.

Thanks for the tip on the zoom. I have been searching for months for a digital STILL camera that has GOOD video qualities. I currently have a camera that also does not zoom. Similar cameras that DO zoom are an advantage in my opinion.
