"Professional Results for the Novice" on by kmo727
Pros: Ease of use -- especially in automatic mode
Clear pictures in telephoto and regular (wide) mode
Durable casing -- not flimsy in your hand; well-built
Face recognition is accurateCons: A lot to learn for the novice
You have to go to the CD to refer to the manual, which is inconvenientSummary: A terrific camera for the price. This is my second Fuji Finepix. I like the ease of use and the durability of Fuji cameras. And, you cannot beat the colors that this camera captures in your photos. For the novice, the automatic mode is there to help you take wonderful photos. For those more advanced, you can experiment with aperature and shutter speeds, and can establish custom settings. I considered some other name brands that are more recognizable than Fuji, and I even purchased one. But I quickly returned it and went and purchased this camera. I don't think you'll regret it.

"Designed to be like a film camera" on by macuseruno
Pros: The low light capability is amazing. 6400 asa (@5mp)1600 @ full resolution If you understand film, you'll get this camera. Uses AA batteries and standard SD cards. Component output for direct from camera HD playback on your home theater
Cons: No accessory cables or remote. These must be purchased for around $100.00
Summary: The main reviewer may want a do over. His sample was obviously defective. I've owned several Fuji cameras, only upgrading to gain more features or resolution. The low light capability of this camera is amazing, 6400 ASA on a tripod at night translates to full color images in the dark. This isn't a point and shoot camera, it's designed for those of us who know and use film cameras. Standard AA batteries, Standard memory card, low price I'm a happy boy!

"Fantastic camera." on by rgiolito
Pros: Ease of use and quality results
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Summary: I was looking to buy a digital camera that had an Electronic View Finder in order to capture action (sports) shots of my chidren's basketball and softball games (indoors with not the best lighting). I was a liitle concerned after reading some of the reviews but went ahead and purchased it. I'm glad I did. This camera is awesome!. It is very user friendly with many options. I love the continuous shooting feature. I purchased a HCSD card and lithium batteries which lasted over 1000 pictures before needing to be replaced. I've owned SLR cameras before but wanted the ease of use of a point and shoot with the versatility of many different modes. I also didn't want to spend $500 and up and a Digital SLR. At $169 brand new on eBay this is a steal! This camera has it all. I can't wait to go on vacation and try some other shooting modes.

"CNET reviewer was scammed by FUJI" on by PieceOfJunk
Pros: Excellent H.264 Video
Good zoom.Cons: Takes 8 seconds between shots with Flash, not 2!
Flash is too powerful - washes everything out.
Battery life terrible for how slow it is.
Resolution is not 10 MP, more like around 3 usable.Summary: Clearly the camera was overclocked for the CNET reviewer. Check around elsewhere, others report 8 sec. shot-to-shot time with flash, which is unacceptable!
