"Best deal you'll get for the money, quality, and features." on by MrRealityx2005
Pros: Very good picture quality, fast action shots, and lots of features.
Cons: Bulky and heavy
Summary: I researched a ton of digital cameras before purchasing this one. You will find it all over the net, just be careful bout who you buy from, many places who sell it cheap will hassle you about buying their accessories. Now, as far as the camera is concerned, it's excellent. It's a big step above the Wal-Mart digital cameras and rivals many pro cameras in quality of pictures. My parents took it on a trip to Europe, came back, and developed over 100+ pictures from my S5000. They all looked wonderful. Infact, I've upgraded to the 4 megapixel S5100 version and gave them my S5000 to use.
You won't be sorry you bought this camera but be sure you buy the rechargable batteries, NIHM I think. They will give you about 120-150 shots. -
"BEST CAMERA FOR 2 years straight" on by mjatas
Pros: best quality shots, high optical zoom, high 6MP quality
Cons: slow shutter speed, flash only for short distances
Summary: This is one sweet camera for a sweet price. When I first bought it about 2 years ago it was the best camera on the market, with it's impresive 6MP quality and 10X optical zoom nothing came close to it, not even to this day does cameras come close to it. Same cameras cost the same amount of money and has even less features. Don't listen to what people say this camera. It is mostly for proffessional photographers and amateurs can learn how to take basic shots within 30 min with the help of an expert. It has excellent quality shots, even at night and even without using the flash and from far away. AMAZING! If you need a camera go for this one. Trust me it's worth it. And if you do buy it and hate it, then you must be doing something wrong. After 2 years I am still using it and I love it.

"good optical zoom backed with poor image" on
Pros: great 10x optical zoom and 2.2 digital zoom gives good image clarity. has option to capture up to 6.0m pixels, but occasionally i use 3.0m pixels.
Cons: can be a real frustrating device. have to hold REALLY still to avoid noise. no use for that 10x zoom at this point. end-image is good, but never sharp. makes you feel want to stick to non-SLRs.

"Best Digital Camera Pixel For Pixel" on
Pros: Everything--- 10X Optical Zoom. For those of you that do not know what that is its the zoom used by the optics (lenses) so you dont get any distortion like you can with a Digital Zoom. With this camera its capable of 20" x 30" prints, beat that for the mo
Cons: If I find One Ill Let You Know.

"Excellent second camera" on by HawaiiBill
Pros: Full Nikon suitcase doesn't travel well but this camera can grab those shots you would have missed -- or couldn't sell! -- without the weight to back up full quality.
Cons: FujiFilm's in computer software gets in the way. We have Adobe Creative Suite 5 so we get the best of every shot taken.
Summary: I know of no other equipment capable of so much reliable quality for travel, ordinary social events, sending good photos to friends and taking samples of locations you need to revisit with the serious stuff! It's a shame that FujiFilm didn't continue this inexpensive lookalike for a SMALL SLR for convenience with quality.
