As a fine owner of Fujifilm FinePix Z2, i am definitely impressed by this camera.
The main reason why i purchased this camera instead of the Olympus u770SW is because of the fact that the picture quality as well as the motion transition is way much clearer and smoother.
Improvements from the Z2 would definitely include the fact that it now accepts SD card and xD card instead of xD card alone.
I am also impressed by how it is able to produce 2 pictures (1 with flash mode enabled and 1 without) within a single shot. This is definitely a very good function as often with other cameras, you would ask people to pose again just to take another shot with/without the flash.
Compared to Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd, this model only can take pictures up to a maximum of 8 megapixels instead of 10. Although generally you don't really need shots that big, i was quite disappointed at that fact. However, one good thing is that it allows up to 5X zoom in feature while the Z10fd only allows up to 3X zoom in.
1 thing that comes across my mind is the fact that the camera is still utilizing ISO only up to a range of 1600. This is definitely a no-improvement compared to the very old model I have (Finepix Z2) whereas the new sony camera has support up to ISO 6400.
Another new improvement is also the way you were to charge the camera. It's definitely an improvement from the Finepix Z2 where you need the dock to charge the camera whereas with this one, you'd be given a separate external charger.
Overall, i think it's definitely a worth buy. It has a lot of shot modes to maximize your picture quality. One thing is that i was told there isn't any underwater case made for this model yet when clearly it seems to be made partly for underwater shots as one of the shot mode indicates it.
