Pros Ease of use, clarity is phenomenal, nice price and perfect compact size!
Cons None as of yet
Summary A best buy for sure! Unbelievable clarity and even a perfect digital camera for a first time user.
Pros Compact, affordable, attractive, easy to use, slightly above average features, 10 mega pixels, wireless picture transferring, in camera photo and movie editing software, face detection, stabilization mode, super long battery life, and smart flash
Cons Slide front makes the camera too easy to turn on accidently. Recommended to buy a small case to place it in to prevent this. Relatively small viewing screen as compared to other comparable models.
Summary Looking for a camera to take on vacation? Maybe looking or a holiday gift? Or just looking for an inexpensive way to capture your child's recital with pictures or movies? No matter what the occasion, the Fujifilm F20 can deliver every time for every occasion.
The Fujifilm F20 will immediately make an impression for those who choose to express their personality as the camera comes in either a neon blue, hot pink, or earthy green. But if you prefer the clean sleek look, the camera comes in a jet black as well. Along with it's fashion sense, it's size is also another attractive feature. One of the more compact point and shoot camera's on the market, it's smaller than most of the popular Sony and Nikon point and shoot models currently available.
If you're not too concerned with having a camera that can out style it's competitors, then perhaps it's price point and features will be more attractive to you. The average price of the Fujifilm F20 is around $140. You won't have to go online for special deals for that price, most general major retailers are quoting that price as well. But what may be even more attractive than it's price is it's features.
The camera's features are nothing to over look. It's super long battery life, 10 mega pixels, ease of use, and face detection should sell itself. But for those who want more, the F20 gives you more. Lets start with it's "smart flash" technology. The camera will automatically detect the light exposure of the environment and increase or dial back the amount of flash bursted during the picture giving the photograph a more natural light look. Most cameras smart flash will only be able to tell when a flash is to be on or off. This can cause "ghost face" in areas that are very dark and the flash is too bright. The F20 will give the appropriate percentage of flash to make the picture appear more natural.
Another impressive feature is it's stabilization mode. This is a mode that most cameras have that will stop the blur effect of taking pictures of fast moving objects or just someone with an incredibly shaky hand. But what sets this apart is the F20's stabilization mode is by far the best I've ever used. I swung the camera around wildly while taking pictures and it appeared as though it was never moving.
The F20 also has in camera editing software that allows you to clip and edit slideshows as well as movies. You can take a string of separate movie clips and string them together into one file, right on the camera's interface. Also if you have friends with a Fujifilm camera, you can wirelessly transfer photos to their camera without having to use a computer.
The only downsides I see to this camera is it's slide front face plate that turns the camera on and it's relatively small 2.5 inch screen on it's back side. There were a few times where the face plate slid open inside my pocket and turned the camera on for who knows how long. But the extremely long battery life of the camera will make up for that. But I went out and got a small padded cotton pouch for the camera and that has yet to happen again.
All in all, in my opinion, this is the last point and shoot compact camera you'll ever need. Great for all ages and all occasions. The Fujifilm F20 is a must buy.
