Pros Zoom power, multiple settings for auto and manual mode; both a point and shoot, or manual camera.
Cons I can not think of any Cons. I like every feature about this camera and look forward to mastering the ones I don't know very much about. You can choose to use the auto functions on this camera and be pleased as punch with the results. If you like the c
Summary My Nikon CoolPix 3200 about 12 years old needed to be replaced. I am an amateur photographer. What I wanted in my new camera was fast shutter response, fast pic processing so I can take another pic quickly, clean clear pics, zoom capability to capture daughter's recitals and son's soccer games. I put in a 4 GB memory card, it processes fast enough for me.
These are the features (I probably left some out there are so many): auto, SCN (lets you choose from different conditions for best pics) museum, clear glass, fireworks, sunset, daytime, and many more, Movie-not HD, but the quality of movies is still good; panoramic - takes practice, but produces awesome pan shots; Portrait - for portrait settings obviously; manual camera mode - here you can set EV, ISO, and other stuff that as an amateur I am still learning about. A, S, P are also manual setting choices for more experienced photographers. Flash can be set auto, force, red eye reduce museum setting for "no flash" zones, and a couple of others I can't recall; Macro - allows real close up photos; evf/lcd button swaps between view finder and LCD; image stabilization button; face, smile and blink detection; timer for self portraits that has different time settings; Edit photos in camera and save edit photo along with original photo; BW settings, also B&W, sephia or accent setting. AF Assist beam, Expo Metering, Continuous AF, Digital Zoom, Quick Review, Date Imprint, Continuous shoot (3 choices). I can grow with this camera as I learn about and use it. I paid $130 and got a free 4GB memory card with mine. While it is not a big name camera, GE electronic products I have had in the past have stood the test of time and use. Plus, this camera met my needs in both function, options (and then some) and price. I understand why it is called a bridge camera because of all of the manual options that are available, easily usable for an amateur like myself. For the price, compared to the other point and shoot cameras, I would definitely recommend this camera. The only negative comments I've read have been about the lens cap. I'm glad it easily pops off when I turn the camera on. This was a wise design concept, other wise, the lens gears would probably jam and break if the cap kept it from coming out. It has a string attachment so the cap won't be lost. For all the awesomeness this camera does have, I'll deal with the lens cap which for me is a non issue anyway. It fits in my hands nicely, is weighty so I feel it in my hands. Buttons are clearly marked, well placed and menus are easy to navigate. I love it!
Pros can be a nice paper weight.
Cons piece of trash
Summary piece of junk
Pros Takes nice pictures when it feels like working.
Cons Won't focus most of the time.
Summary Piece of junk, will only focus occasionally. Sent back for repair, was told camera was OK. It supposedly has auto focus but my pictures come out blurry most of the time. Wouldn't wish one on an enemy.
Pros Very durable, long battery life, quick loading and lots of shooting features.
Cons Some of the buttons are somewhat small and hard to press.
Summary This is not in the category of "<a href="http://www.cheapforme.com">cheap cameras". Although the price tag is not sky rocket, it's still a good camera for any novice who enjoys taking pictures of the world as they see it.
Pros Pictures are good and even sometimes great (especially outdoors). Easy to use. Yes, pictures do come out darker indoors, but when using the AScan feature they come out fairly good. I took some really great movies of my son's Christmas concert (it was dark
Cons A bit slow especially with action shots (sports related). Have not conquered flash pictures - tend to be brighter than they should.
Summary I am ready for upgrade and will give camera to my daughter
