Pros I don't see any pros in it. Only priced lower.
Cons .Very Poor Battery Life . I even tries the NiMh rechargeble batteries but does not last long . After 7-8 photos the batteries get discharged. Does not click good photos in the dark . The image is completly dark . I did not find a way to put off the LCD d
Pros Sliding cover?
Cons Cheapy looking, low quality video, low batter life, bad zoom, etc.!
Summary I received this camera 2 years ago for Christmas and it's been so-so. The worst problem is the battery life! Whenever I bring my camera I have to bring back up batteries because it dies easily. The picture quality is bad also. I recently went to a concert and was dissapointed in the camera's performance. It was outside, and at night... the flash failed to work. My pictures turned out horribly because of it.
Pros Good Picture, Decent night shots of Christmas lights...
Cons grainy video, but at least it's got sound with it, SD Card!!!
Summary I have been enjoying my HP 435 for about 2 yrs now...gets decent still shots, and once you figure out its layout, an all around enjoyeable camera. Trick, don't use the screen to take your shot, use the viewfinder, and after you take the shot, the pic will pop up on the screen and ask if you want to delete it or not. Very nice feature!!! fiddle with the ISO and Balance to receive enhanced picture quality. Nothin you can do about the grainy video, but works well enough on audio for quickie recording, escpecially when and where a camcorder is cumbersome and/or too slow. I got mine on sale from Wally-World about 2 yrs ago for $91 and you can still buy one for about that price. Good starter cam. If anyone knows what I'm doin' wrong with the SD Card, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pros very easy to use, holds up well long term, takes decent pictures for a fairly inexpensive 3MP camera
Cons battery life can be short, video playback is a bit grainy
Summary While this camera is far from perfect, it was a great entry-level digital camera. I originally purchased it to supplement my very good 35mm film camera, but never wound up using my 35mm again! I have had this camera for over 2 years, and am just now retiring it for a 7MP camera. While not for one who is looking for top of the line photography, this is perfect for someone who just wants very simple point-and-shoot functions. The controls are easy to use (even my technologically impaired parents were able to figure them out) and picture quality is respectable (about as good as I have seen from 3MP cameras). The battery life can be short, although some commenters said only about 10 minutes -- I used rechargable batteries and would get a good 100 or so pictures from each recharge, so enough to last a long weekend away. All in all, a very simple, great camera for someone looking for an inexpensive entery-level digital experience. Although I am looking forward to my new Canon SD550, I will miss my trusty HP photosmart 435!
Pros First lets adress the cons from everybody that knows jack. Batteries, yes digi sucks up bateries, thats why you carry rechargable ones, 16 bucks gets you 4 batteries and a 2 hr charger for use in car and home. now you got batteries for life and a 3+ pix
Cons batteries, dont get non rechargable. doesnt come with a charger, but hey 16 bucks more and look above for very nice batteries and charger
