"durable, good entry-level camera"
3.5 starson by julieuliePros: very easy to use, holds up well long term, takes decent pictures for a fairly inexpensive 3MP camera
Cons: battery life can be short, video playback is a bit grainy
Summary: While this camera is far from perfect, it was a great entry-level digital camera. I originally purchased it to supplement my very good 35mm film camera, but never wound up using my 35mm again! I have had this camera for over 2 years, and am just now retiring it for a 7MP camera. While not for one who is looking for top of the line photography, this is perfect for someone who just wants very simple point-and-shoot functions. The controls are easy to use (even my technologically impaired parents were able to figure them out) and picture quality is respectable (about as good as I have seen from 3MP cameras). The battery life can be short, although some commenters said only about 10 minutes -- I used rechargable batteries and would get a good 100 or so pictures from each recharge, so enough to last a long weekend away. All in all, a very simple, great camera for someone looking for an inexpensive entery-level digital experience. Although I am looking forward to my new Canon SD550, I will miss my trusty HP photosmart 435!
