"Good camera, good battery life."
Pros: Efficient memory usage, easy menu usage, good picture quality.
Cons: Slow picture execution AFTER you hit the button, extremely annoying. This forces you to watch the action thru the optical viewfinder (because the camera preview screen goes dead between shots) especially during action scenes.
Summary: The first one I got from Walmart had poor battery life (less than one(1) hour). I sent it back for warranty, HP sent me another one that worked correctly. Camera is easy to operate, loads pictures into my Macintosh without a whimper, takes pretty good pictures and they aren't too large to manipulate easily (like maybe inserting a picture into an email). I'm one of those guys that can make a convincing case against a large imager. I don't give a tinkers' damn about blowing up a picture or cropped results. I don't mess with pictures very much. I just want the camera to make a faithful representation of the scene I wish to shoot. The HP Photosmart 635 passes this test with flying colors. The only annoyance I have found, in day to day use, is the damn delay in executing the shot after I push the button (over 1 second and is something you folks have already mentioned). It would also would have been nice if the camera could preserve date/time and personal settings between battery changes, but that is a minor annoyance.
