I work for a school in the IT department. I have worked with camera's for a while now, at work and at home. I know a bit about digital cameras. I would not consider my self a noob. This model of HP cameras, is just a bad model. We bought 7 of them. The bundle! HP is going to replace mine with a different model. I had my replaced in December '04. Now I will just get a different model. As fas as power consumption due to zoom, digital zoom, flash, and view screen, your batteries should not die within 5 to 7 minutes. I know about all the "cool" features spoken in the "Stop complaining about battery, noobs" post. These features do not deplete batteries that fast. It is just a bad model. I will not switch from HP though, I trust them.
