Pros Nice size, great resolution potential, flexible power system, good controls
Cons Incredibly poor lens which completely negates high resolution CCD, clearly the place where HP saved money to bring in the great price point.
Summary Could have been the camera that solidified HP has a major player. My advice - fit a decent Pentax lens to the unit and raise the price $25 and you have a perfect "10."

Pros Awesome Picture Quality, Goof-Proof
Cons Holds Low Number of Pictures
Summary This camera is awesome! It takes some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen. The only drawback is that the camera itself only holds about 14 high-quality pictures in it's memory, so you'll have to invest in a memory card. Otherwise, it's easy to use and is VERY reasonably priced.
Pros Easy to use, fast, great features
Cons Can't think of any...
Pros Lots of features and easy to use
Cons A lot of things to learn about the camera
Summary I used an old Kodak which was difficult to upload to the computer and was very time consuming. The HP R717 does everything for me and is a pleasure to use. I need clear pictures to upload to my website (www.thecraftshop.ca) and this camera takes excellent pictures for closeups.
Pros Many easy features to use and built in settings.
Cons Not discovered real problems, maybe software that seems to take over the way you access your photos on our computer.
Summary I love my new HP Photosmart R717 digital camera. I wanted an aim and shoot camera and this on does more then I ever expected. I love the fact that you can set it to take 2 timed pictures at a time incase someone is not ready. It has so many built in settings such as action, landscape, portrait, panorama, beach, snow, sunset, museum, document, aperture priority, my mode, and auto mode. It is small and compact yet does so much.Updated
I don't give many 10's on ratings. I haven't investigated all the features but I love what I have used so far. It is really an awesome digital camera.
