Pros Zoom, outdoor snaps, manual controls
Cons Some flash issues, macro not very good
Summary For $200 you can do worse than this camera. I wanted something to toss in a knapsack and not worry about too much if something happened to it. This one foot the bill for me. Daytime and outdoor shots come out very nice. Some nighttime shots(auto) have some issues using the flash, but if you're comfortable with manual controls, its not too hard to overcome. Zoom is pretty good and overall lens is decent; but don't expect too much from the macro, its just ok.
Look, its $200 for an 8mp,5x camera. Picture quality is very good, some decent features, and while not always pocketable, easy to bring along most of the time.
Pros good pic quality, great flash, flexible features, good video
Cons image stabilization
Summary had problems with it cutting off at first, battery life was poor, but then i upgraded the firmware, and switched to 2500mAh
nimh rechargables, took 168 pics with autoflash
and 15min of video at the auto show on 1 set of batteries, with no shut off other than powersave
Pros User Friendly/Point and Shoot
Cons Battery Hogger
Summary So here's my story i purchased this little camera about a montha go. I like it the colours are amazing, pictures come out pretty nice but however i have some interesting facts to warn people about. This little sucker loves to chew battery life! Thats why if you put a battery in it will still operate however it will continuously shut off on you. I reccommend recharable nihm at least 2300 mAh. Even brand new double AA's out of the packaging will get chewed if you played with it for about 15 mins or so.I personaly use recharables at 2600 nAh and i find the battery life is awesome! It wont die on you without alot of use.You should have rechargables when you own a digital cam anyways Also one more tidbit when recording video if you hear noise being recorded into video thats the auto focus working to easily shut that off while it's in video mode press Menu and change continuous af to single af and that noise will be gone.Wonderful camera .... for all you folks who took it back because you thought it was defective it wasn't its settings and good strong rechargeable batteres you needed. Yes it has no stabalization but what the heck dont drink so much coffee and you'll be allright LOL I recommend this camera as a starter cam it's awesome.
Pros Manual controls for exposure are really nice
Cons Had trouble getting macro focus
Summary This is a great camera for a first time user. The auto controls along with the manual settings give you versatility on setting up your shots. Using the 2500Mpa AA rechargable batteries gives you an advantage over other cameras which use manufactures dedicated batteries. The large LCD screen is a plus for people with reading glasses
Pros 8 megapixel, reliable
Cons Not the fanciest around, kodak memory card
Summary I bought this camera for its low price, I needed a camera and it was nice for the price. I have had no problems with it after 6 months of having it. I would like a different memory card for it, kodak seems obsessed with having their own size card so tranfering pictures to other devices must include a computer median. Picture quality is excellent. Zoom is acceptable, I have seen better. This is a nice camera, but there are so many other choices on the market that I must warn anyone to look around for something better. If you cant find something cheaper or the same price with more features or looks, then you can buy this one with enough confidence so that you wont regret it almost immediatly
