• "dont buy this camera re shut off problems"
    1.0 stars
    on by eribenn

    Pros: good pictures and colour

Cons: beware electronic problems, constantly shuts itself off

Summary: Dont buy this camera without at least 30 day return. I checked all kinds of reviews before buying, and it took about 15 great pictures, especially indoors. Good detail and Smart Scene works well. BUT...first unit started shutting off by itself 2nd day in middle of taking pictures. Exchanged it asap as going on vacation. But now similar problem, turning camera on it starts and then shuts off immediately, cant take any pictures, and Im 4000 miles from home. Met 3 other people with same new camera at this resort have same problem.

I had/have the exact same problem with this camera. I returned it and they gave me another one. No time at all and again shutting off after a few pictures. Took it back and they told me I needed to use "recharable" batteries they were strong. After buying the entire recharge kit and batteries. Still the same problem. I'm shopping now for another camera and won't go near a Kodak.

Wow i can't believe it! I am having the same problem with my camera. Now it wont turn on at all. Did you get the camera fixed? If so what was the problem and what was the cost?

i use all kinds of battery brand and sometimes when i use a different brand my camera turns on and off a few times but then i is ok. it works best with my wallmart batteries and charger but it always ajusts to what i am useing. maybe you need a software update.

From other web sites I have read that this problem is resolved by upgrading to the latest firmware, which is available on the Kodak web site.

We have only had our C875 a few days, but used it a lot, and the only times it turned off was if it was not used for several minutes (which is a user programmable setting), and then when the batteries were very weak.

Put in new batteries and kept taking lots of pictures. I really like this camera and have recommended it to others without hesitation.

I read another review by someone else, she was havingp roblems with the video. and it seems that it was the battery problem.

so maybe your problem is also due to the battery that you were using.
