"Best Digital Camera! Better than the Panasonic Lumix!" on by littlebit4
Pros: 10X Zoom, Picture Quality, ease of use
Cons: No Image Stabilization, CNETS review!
Summary: I can't believe the Review CNet gave!
This is a GREAT camera! Its the first one that finally got me to put my Nice 35mm zoom camera on the shelf! So Nice to carry only one around!
I bought the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ15, I HATED it!! I could not get a good picture,
Except outdoors only!
I did not want to have to adjust the camera every shot! About 1 out of 9 were good!
Colors were totally off! I borrowed my friends Kodak dx6490 and took the same pics with BOTH cameras, WOW! The Kodak blew the other away!! True reds, better skin tones, SO Much easier to use!! Just unreal how much better the pics were with the kodak!! So I had to go out and buy the dx7590 and LOVE IT!!
OH! This camera Includes the dock that charges which is GREAT if you do a lot on the computer as your not running down your battery!! Also You CAN use the USB cord that plugs into the dock into the camera and charge that way too! Nice for travel! You will love it! -
"Better than what CNET rates!!" on by honeykrishnan
Pros: Good picture quality.
Cons: shaky zoom pictures, no image stabilization
Summary: This is a real good camera as far as picture quality is concerned. Scene modes are superb especially the night landscape/night portrait, flower mode, fireworks, beach etc.
Battery is also good, comes to 100 snaps with good LCD usage after a full recharge.
My friend who bought a olympus c770 could use it upto 50-60 snaps only and is going for extra batteries.
I bought it from buydig.com with 512 MB memory and the dock. dock is not very useful, you can get a charger and a USB cable instead. Dock doesn't do anything great. Try to get a tripod otherwise your hand needs to be very steady while taking zoom pics.
Overall a very good ultra zoom camera . -
"Very very nice dig cam, may just get me to moth-ball my SLR" on by terrapin24h
Pros: The lens, viewfinder, lots of scene modes
Cons: No manual focus or manual white bal. could use 64mb or memory too
Summary: I don't know what the cnet reviewer was smokin when they were viewing the images from thier 7590, but mine produces wonderful images full of detail and no image artifacts. Using this camera feels very much like a mini-slr. It has many of the same controls in alot of the asme places. Anyone who's spent any time with pro gear will feel right at home with this lil bugger. Also, as it's very easy to use generally speaking, people with only rudmentary picture taking skills will also get great results. However, to really flex this camera's muscle requires that the user learn all about the different bells and whistles and how to use them. The only thing i really miss from my SLRs are a real "bulb" mode for the shutter, and better bracketing capabilities. This camera produces wonderful images full of color that print great.

"Great camera! Very versatile and easy to use." on by lalowe
Pros: Quality of pictures, Zeiss lens, 10 x zoom, battery life, ease of use, feel of regular camera, multiple preset modes
Cons: Manual not very easy to understand nor helpful
Summary: I have had my camera for six months, and prior to it have used Olympus, Canon, Sony. To me this is the best choice because it serves many purposes easily - Quick snapshots, portraits, videos, etc. The quality of the lens is superb. I have compared it to others, and feel it measures up to everything in this price/feature range.
The best thing I did was just sit for about 2 hours and "play" with it - learn the settings, learn the setup, etc. You do have to select the correct mode for the best results, which is not hard once you understand what it can really do. I think it does much more than some people who own it can imagine!
I videotape my son playing baseball, and am able to shoot through the fence from the bleachers with the zoom and get good quality video - it does take a very steady hand or a tripod, and playing with the focus to not get the fence but that's just practice!
I absolutely love this camera, and would highly recommend it to anyone. For a first-time digital camera person, get an experienced friend to help you understand its potential and you will be pleased! I tried a couple of cameras that cost less, and just was not satisfied, but am glad we made this purchase. -
"The best camera I have had yet!!!" on by Tattoo4
Pros: Everthing about it.
Cons: None that I have come accrossed
Summary: If you can't take great pictures with the DX 7590, then you don't know how to use the camera!!!!
They talk about purple fringing, but I have yet to see it, and I have put it through a lot of testing.
I have been shooting for 48 years, and I know what I'm talking about. This is one great camera!
