"Disappointed"
Pros: Construction and compactness
Cons: Poor image quality
Summary: Bought this camera, tested it extensively, then took it back due to poor performance. V610 6.1 megapixel quality not as sharp as my 5 megapixel Kodak DX7590. Wide-angle shots consistently show noticeable distortion in all four corners of the image. ISO 64 and 100 settings yield decent results, but 200 and above show great signs of image breakdown. This camera does not perform to the level of it's pricetag. Great disappointment since I have nothing but satisfaction and praise for my Kodad DX7590.

HamiltonMargos is correct that the V610 produces images with some lens distortion in the corners. However, this is only true when using the smaller wide angle zoom lens. Most point and shooters will not notice or care about this.
The target audience for the V610 is someone looking for a true pocket sized camera with a 10x optical zoom lens. The telephoto zoom lens on the V610 is getting good reviews. Distortion near the edges or corners of images shot with the 10x optical zoom is negligible. Image quality is very good with the larger lens in daylight conditions.
If image clarity in the far corners of images shot in wide angle mode is your #1 priority then I don't think you would even consider the V610. You would be looking at the far more expensive SLR digital cameras or compact cameras with a larger diameter dedicated wider angled lens.
If having a pocket-sized camera that can shoot wide to 10x optical zoom without a phallic prtotruding lens is your priority then the V610 is the only option. It is truly innovative. Having been a Sony and Nikon digicam guy, the V610 is the only Kodak digital camera I ever considered buying. This is because my priority is telephoto zoom in a compact package.
