Pros Beautiful Pictures, Style, Features
Cons A little noise
Summary I think the Cnet guys were a little too rough on this camera. This camera is not for the Professional Photographer, it is for your average person who enjoys to snap pictures of family, friends, and normal day-to-day scenes. If you want a Camera with spectacular response time & High ISO quality, then go bye a Canon SLR or some other $800+ camera. But if you want great quality pictures for a reasonable price this Camera is great. The thing you have to remember is that Kodak cameras produce the Brightest & most Colour rich pictures. I've used Kodak digital cameras since they came out and i've been nothing but pleased.
Another great new feature is the removal of the "wheel". The joy stick is great for navigation, and once you read the User Manual, it becomes that much more simple to use the camera. The Rectangular buttons are not difficult to press, in fact they are very sleek and I personally enjoy not having buttons sticking up .5cm from the camera.
The All-Glass lens is great, and I have not yet had a problem with grains showing up in my pictures. My guess is that the testers at CNET were doing tests that are for another class of camera. This Camera is an ENTRY LEVEL Camera with some advanced features on it to make the owner feel like a good photographer.
All in all, its a great Camera for its price, and the Li-Ion Batter lasts FOREVER.
Pros Small, light weight, stylish, functional
Cons only 24 MB internal memory
Summary After buying this I read all the reviews here and thought I was getting a bad deal. But upon receiving it in the mail, I was more than happy. Lots of picture presets and the pictures look great. My Mom and I both bought this camera and we both have no complaints!!!!
"Fun colors Useful camera everything a person can want for the amount of $ they are paying for it"on by heartinhand223
Pros 8 mega pixel for a cheap price, Colors, size of back screen, easy to use buttons
Cons takes a long time to take a picture, can not capture a real moment, big bulky, not the best camera
Summary i use to have a cyber shot 6.2 megapixel something like that even though it had less mp i still perfer it then this camera it took pictures way faster this one take 3 flases and around 20 sec. It is big and unconfortable to take out on a casual afternoon or date. the images are not the best for for an 8mp it has alot of noise as another review said when pictures are taken there may be distortion to the face. They have made new ones of these do not know how they are but i suggest you check those and see how they do but i would never buy this camera again I've only had it for a couple of months and i want a different one
Pros easy to use navigation, beautifiul screen, stylish design
Cons slow picture snapping, trouble with low light pictures
Summary Overall the Kodak V803 is a decent point andd shoot digital camera with some nice features and excellent styling. The CNET reviewers were harsh in judging this phone (probably because the initial price was $200), but for around $140 for an 8 megapixel camera, the Kodak is a good buy.
Pros Good photo quality; different photo settings are useful
Cons Zoom is weak and diminishes photo quality; not good for night pics
Summary I took this camera with me to a recent trip to Scotland and recently got back my photos. I was shocked at the great quality of my pics. The setting for low lighting worked fantastic in all of the dark castles. Other settings help to improve photo quality. I would also add that all the settings and using the buttons on the camera do take some practice and getting used too. This camera would not impress avid photographers, but for a casual picture taker like myself, it works great.
