    "Battery Hog" on by sbcheli

    Pros: Takes pretty decent pictures.

Cons: Goes through batteries like crazy! You can't even get through one family event without replacing the batteries.
The Series 3 camera dock kit that's recommended for the Z1085 comes with a battery that doesn't fit the Z1085! Isn't that nice of Kodak?

Summary: I contacted Kodak about the fact that the Series 3 camera dock, that is recommended for the Z1085 IS camera, comes with the wrong battery, and they just said they were sorry but I'd have to shell out another $25 to buy the correct battery. Actually, because this camera goes through batteries so fast, I'll have to buy TWO at $25 so I'll always have one at the ready when the other dies.

So ... to have a camera that works when you want it to, you have to spend around $200 for the camera, $50 for the dock kit, and $50 for the batteries -- $300. For that you could get a fabulous Fujifilm camera, like our S5100, that uses AA batteries and they last for several events!

I wouldn't recommend this camera, and I wouldn't recommend anything by Kodak because they obviously don't care about their customers.

"I bought this camera 3 days ago at Staples for CAD$160" on by canonballrun

Pros: 1. Price is right for 10 MP
    2. Simple Operations
    3. Can do multiple clicks using a single hit
    4. It is a Kodak !
    5. Image quality is very good for the price

Cons: Well, the only thing I have to rate this product is LOW, because .. after 3 days of purchase ... it FROZE on me...
I could not shut it off or do anything.. so I had to take the battery off the place and put it back again

Summary: This product basically is good.. but has problem(s) as I mentioned above. It freezes on you. I read some reviews from other discussion board on the internet... several people have this problem.

So, what is the solution? .. Well... I sent this product back to Staples and I just bought Canon.. instead...

    "battery problem" on by izziemarmaduke

Pros: Takes good pictures, easy to use, easy to transfer pictures.

Cons: Constant problems with lithium batteries. Ok for the first 6 months - 1 year but after that I'v had to replace batteries frequently. Camera either shuts down or no picture in view finder. I have to pull out batteries and restart multiple times in same

Summary: This is my 4th and final Kodak camera. I will not buy another one.

"Don't buy it" on by larrh7

Pros: Takes good pictures for the money.

Cons: Had it a year and it is eating up batteries fast all of a sudden. They won't last overnight even with the camera off and not taking pictures. Wrote Kodak to complain and they don't even answer.

Summary: Don't buy it. Spend a little more on a better camera. I'm dissapointed in Kodak. It worked so good for a year.

"I would buy this camera again!" on by Elizabeth405

Pros: Auto and Scenic Modes - Easy to take great pictures!
    Zoom during videos!
Can take video for as loon as you have room on your card!
    Great sound for playback.
    10MP!
Small size - can carry in a purse or pocket so you can have it with you at all times.

Cons: I have had this camera for 14 months, and it has locked up on me only twice. It wasn't a big deal at all, but is a small con.

Summary: This camera has automatic and scenic modes to help you easily take great pictures. It is also one of the few cameras that allows you to take photos as long as your memory card has room for (mine are typically an hour)! This is worth buying a Kodak for!! Many other brands of cameras only allow video in 3-5 minute or 25 minute lengths.

With the KLIC-8000 battery (found online) battery life is a couple of weeks if taking intermittent photos or a little over an hour if taking continuous video. I bought 2 of these batteries and 2 4GB SD cards and switch them out. They last great!!
I also bought the Kodak power adapter so any time I am taking pictures or video inside, I just plug in and can go solid for hours.

I have had three Kodak cameras, and this one is the best so far! I LOVE the Kodak brand and have been very happy with all three. I would recommend this camera to everyone who wants a great camera, easy to use, and awesome photos and video. Even my 73 year old parents have one and they love it.
