"Decent camera, with good zoom, for such a budget price" on by buzzbee098
Pros: For a budget camera, it produces good results for sports photography. The 10x zoom still produces sharp results and there are plenty of manual options
Cons: The camera feels a little cheap and plastic in the hand. I find myself operating the shutter with my middle finger, with my forefinger on the mode selector, sometimes accidentally changing the mode
Summary: I'm no professional. If I were, this wouldn't be all that good, but if I were, I would spend a lot more.
For amateur use, it's pretty good and when using it for sport, it's massively better than my previous cameras, both of which were more expensive.
I have just bought the camera today and have been testing it out. I tried using the maximum zoom, to take a snap of a car, about 100 yards away, travelling pretty quickly, in pretty low light, as the sun was setting and I was able to read the licence plate on the car with ease.
I put a printout on the wall and took a photo from across the room and when I zoomed in, it was very easy to make out the 8pt type on the print out
Some of the sports shots (Ice Hockey) I took were almost of a professional quality and the burst feature helped with this, although one drawback of a camera with no viewfinder is that when taking burst shots, once the first picture is taken, you cannot follow the shot on the LCD screen, which will instead be showing the first of the pictures taken.
For a 10x zoom camera, it is very small and easily fits into my pocket.
Overall, I just think this camera is very good value for it's low cost
