"Fantastic quality for the money."
on by bcphotographyPros The color is extremely vivid, sharpness is fantastic, extremely easy to use, great for outdoor shots.
Cons quality problems occur from time to time with the indoor shots, slow shooting speed.
Summary Basically, I got the camera as a gift. I love using it for outdoor shots. I have been surprised by the quality of the images. I am a photographer and I love taking this camera to shoots. It's very light weight and very easy to use.

"GREAT Camera"
on by imedgemanPros The zoom on this camera is fantastic for the size of the body, it still fits in your pocket but expands out for a full 10x optical zoom. Also the optical image stabilization is far than the cheap digital version found on many similar-priced cameras.
Cons There is no optical viewfinder - but the LCD is 3" and more than adequate. Also, the batttery is proprietary if this matters to you - but a generic backup can be found on Amazon for $6.
Summary The HD video is fantastic, and as is the story with all Kodaks the picture quality is incredible, the colors are true to life and never subdued. The camera has quite a few manual adjustments if you want complete control over the photos, but also works great in auto modes as well. Bottom line I would highly recommend this camera to anyone wanting to step up a notch from the old point and shoot but who doesn't want to spend a TON of money.

"Excellent picture quality with mediocre video quality."
on by joeyyoweePros Great picture quality in auto mode, easy to use, great user interface
Cons Mediocre video quality, Video goes out of focus unless you use single autofocus, pictures take a few seconds to process before you could review them
Summary The CNET editor was right. If you're a patient photo-shooter that's looking for great quality images for a cheap price this is the camera for you. The video quality is mediocre, but it's good for people who are looking to do basic things like post vlogs on youtube and what not. The battery life is decent and I have no idea what some other reviewers were talking about. I looked at other cameras for the same price as this one and I couldn't find anything that was close to being as good as this as far as picture quality is concerned. I compared this to my dad's high end Panasonic and the quality on this was better. I'm disappointed that they discontinued this model and they aren't going to make a Kodak like this in the future, but I'm hoping that the new M583 is going to be as good as this with improved video quality. I'm definitely getting another Kodak in the future.

"Blurred Photos"
on by dmaccatPros Bought it in part for its zoom capabilities, which is great.
Cons 75% of the time, the pictures are blurred
Summary Pictures taken are moments in time that you cannot capture again. I have had to delete so many of those moments with this camera. Most pictures are blurred and doesn't have the clarity I had with my previous Kodak camera. I don't like the feature of having to hold for the camera to focus before taking the shot. Wish I had never bought this camera!
