"Drains battery" on by cvluc
Pros: Great pictures when it worked!
Cons: Took less than 200 pictures, and now it drains the battery within 5-10 minutes. Totally worthless now. I'll never buy another kodak product again.

"Pretty Good" on by Techon
Pros: Nice Picture Quality, Many Features, Lots of Optical Zoom
Cons: Kinda Bulky, Small Screen, Slow Response Time, Slow Start up
Summary: This was my first camera, received as a gift last Christmas, and I have gotten some great pictures out of it. I tend to get impatient with it's "Processing" time, though.
The Panoramic setting is fun to play with.
The flash pops out of the top, and can be pushed down if not needed, automatically turning the flash off, which I love, because I don't use the flash too often.
I love the photo program that came with the camera, it helps a bunch with organizing and sharing my pictures.
Overall, it's a fun starter camera. -

"Nice Buy-A great stepping up camera" on by Hakuryustar17
Pros: Ability to use filters and extra lens, 10x built in zoom, 5x Digital zoom that isn't as bad as I've become accustomed to, manual functions, compact design
Cons: Slow performance, small LCD, 7.1 mp slightly disappointing
Summary: This turns out to be one of the better eBay purchases I've made. As a Environmental Photojournalism major, I needed a small camera that could fit into my bag when I went into the field to do research and photograph my subject of interest, and the Kodak ZD710 fit the bill at $150 with shipping and its small size and wide range of options. This is a lovely compromise vs purchasing a DSLR that would have cost much more and may have been more camera than I needed it to be.
The wide range of options available on this camera are very appealing, I've come to love the 'P-ASM' feature on the camera that allows me to set custom settings for photos I have time to play around with and make nicer shots, which on the flip side, the scene selector and smart scene functions are great for when I don't quite have the luxury to sit there and get the ideal settings, with photos from any of these settings coming out crystal clear, which is perfect for someone who does half-science, half-professional photography in the field.
I would rate the resulting photos as professional quality, despite my personal disappointment that Kodak didn't see fit to give it a higher MP, however overall, I can't necessarily hold this against the camera. The 10x Schneider-KREUZNACH lens can only be described as beautiful, there's something very, very, satisfying looking at a camera dominated by the lens that you simply don't see in the everyday point and shoot.
The size of this camera has its charm and part of the reason I purchased it, it weighs in at 9.9 ounces and is the absolute perfect combination of lens and size for field work. Certainly they are drawbacks due to its smaller size and not being a DSLR, however, it out performs any point and shoot I've owned in the past.
The only annoying thing I found with this camera is that its very slow on starting up and on the occasion photo, its vexing, but again not as bad as it could be. The small 2.0" LCD was a disappointment, however, I still love the ability to either use the LCD or viewfinder and find that despite my personal disappointments with the camera, there are features that make up for let downs on this particular camera.
I would recommend this camera to anyone looking at something a step or two above your average point and shoot camera and interested in trying out features found on some DSLRs. Its got a rich array of features that are great for many uses and with excellent results. Kodak did a great job on this overall and I'm very pleased with their efforts. -
"Great Price For What You're Getting" on by NickBBC
Pros: 10x's Zoom, Image Stabilization, High ISO, 16 Smart Scene Modes, & Low Price
Cons: Only 2" Screen, Slow Response Time, & No External Flash Capability
Summary: Very cost effective camera. Kodak cameras don't really get the reputation that Nikon and Canon get. But in my opinion it's a good starter for those budding photographers. I have used a Canon D40 and I must say its a similar camera, just a fraction of the price. Go and try one if you don't believe me.
