"Very satisfying natural-light hand-held snaps, capable for the few shots I actually print."
Pros: Hand-held telephoto roomlit photography!!! Swivel viewscreen. Quick white-balance set-up. Comfortable to use. Diopter correction. Wireless remote.
Cons: Wireless flash feature of A2 not carried over to A200; I kill the battery in about 2 hours of use; manual focus is hard due to poor viewer resolution; white balance requires manual intervention.
Summary: Over 3,000 shots thus far.
Since I rarely use a tripod -- and prefer natural-light indoor shots, the digital stabilization and reasonably-fast lens and swivel viewer provide me with an on-target solution to my wants.
When I need better shots, I'll simply dust-off an old stand-by camera and shoot a roll of Kodachrome.
I bought the wide and telephoto adapters, the powerful and versatile 5600 flash and the off-camera flash cord (cuz the darned thing doesn't have the wireless flash controller, arrgh!).
Fill-flash shots of people/animals (dog shows) at the end of the 300mm (equiv) lens are quite satisfactory -- and not being required to use the TTL viewfinder of a Digital SLR was one of my requirements.Updated
Takes capable hand-held natural-light (indoor) pix; but long save-times, focus-times, no off-camera (wireless) flash capability, STEP-DOWN-PERFORMANCE/features from A2, no-zoom when using telephoto/wide and high noise make me wish I had purchased a DSLR (spent $2K on lenses, flash, wires, etc only to have a mediocre performer for the cost).
