"A decent camera, but battery a major flaw" on by davjer
Pros: Large LCD, ease of use, sound clips
Cons: Can not use disposable AA's, body a bit large
Summary: I have owned and used the Kyocera L3v for six months. One of this cameras attractions was its' apparant use of AA batteries. I was embarking on a trip to areas where re-charging would be difficult, but disposable AA's are available everywhere. It turned out that this camera will function ONLY on re-chargable AA's and the expensive and hard to find LCV-3 lithium disposable battery. Disposable AA's, even the best alkalines, will not work.
To be fair, this is mentioned in the camera manual, but most salespeople were un-aware of the restriction.
Aside from that, this is a decent snapshot camera for the price. The large LCD makes checking an image on site easy. Basic functions are easy to use and the ability to add voice notes a handy feature.
The camera got knocked around pretty heavilly during my journey but continues to function normally. -

Cons: Reasonable trade off between seeing, focusing, and framing photos more easily versus diminished battery life.
