"Classic Leica - not the most features, not the most pixels, but the end-product is above all others" on by TKim
Pros: Fast shutter response; Big bright lens captures details beyond its megapixel rating; analog controls make shooting like film; feels like an SLR
Cons: low light focus not as good as you'd expect; everyone will know you have a camera out; flash could be more powerful
Summary: This is a classic Leica - especially for the price, you can definitely find other cameras with more features, more megapixels, more powerful flash, etc... but oh that lens (which is developed with Panasonic), and those controls, and the photos are just magnificent. Fast shutter response enables capture of the critical moment. I would say this camera gives more satisfaction to the photographer for the act of taking photos than any other camera. The only camera I would trade this one for is the digital M series, which is supposed to come out in '07.

"Superb image quality, and outstanding ease of use" on by hmcl
Pros: Fully manual control option, more quiet than any other camera on the market, images are incredible
Cons: Can't think of any

Some people don't like the electronic viewfinder, but as this is used for framing only (if you do not use the large display on the back), I find it not an issue when you work with the Digilux 2.
The feel, the handling, and the performance of the Digilux 2 is exactly as it should be. I have compared the Digilux with a friend's Nikon D100, and after he saw the Leica's images (color, sharpness, contrast) he downloaded the Nikon software and spent four days adjusting the curves (the Nikon's standard settings are very bland).
If you want the easiest to use camera, with a 28-90 mm lens, built in flash (bounce flash possible, as well as 1/2000th sync), the quietest camera, and probably the camera with the best image quality, get the Leica. You'll be glad you did.

"Incredibly Good Camera" on
Pros: Ultrafast operation in manual mode. If Auto Focus is turned off its a truly fast as analogue camera. Viewfinder shows immediately image results while changing parameters such as exposure correction, different meterings etc...
Cons: Slow Autofocus better turn it off.
