  • "People don't understand the point of this camera."

Pros: Completely revolutionary, over time it will change the entire photography and videography worlds as we know them.

Cons: Yes, it does not support Windows right off the bat, which was a bad move on their part. But they are working on it.

Summary: People don't understand the point of the camera. This camera captures images in a completely revolutionary way. It isen't just a chemical (or emulation of a chemical) reaction to light with this camera. It captures just the light data and computes the image from there. You can't export it to a RAW or jpeg image because these file types don't support the way this camera captures images. It is like vector images vs rasterized images, you can't export a vector image to a jpeg without converting it first, and when you convert it you lose the ability to infinitely scale the image. Same with this camera, you can export it's data to a jpeg without converting it to a rasterized image, and when you do you lose the ability to change the depth of field.
As for the shape, I am guessing they designed it like the this because they don't know uneducated people to mistake it for a regular point and shoot camera. Because it is not.

Don't knock the camera because you think it is the same as every other point and shoot camera out there. If you are looking for a good point and shoot then your barking up the wrong tree.
