"Great start to a Great Camera Family" on by Nathan Henwood

    Pros: Using your existing lenses

    Cons: High in Price

Summary: I got this camera while traveling on a trip. I charged the battery and started using it in a very short time. Lots of profesional features. Nice thing being a digital is that you can learn to your hearts content at no addition cost for developing. The anit-shake feature a great feature. To test this out I used a 400mm lense a shoot a photo free hand of the moon at RAW setting for quality. Looking at it on the computor the photo looked great. I could bring the moon in on the computer screen so that 1/4 of the moon filled the screen, you could see the craters on the moon.... wow.

    "Great Camera" on by ASH582

Pros: Easy to use controls, 2.5 " LCD screen, Built in image stabalizer, Good battery life

Cons: A little expensive, Manual is poorly written and contains no index for easy access to instructions

Summary: Only having the camera for about 2 weeks, I have not fully explored it. It is fairly easy to use and the controls are easily accessable. The instruction manual is poorly translated into English and does not contain an index for easy reference. The firmware update is a necessity. Battery life is pretty good, but a second battery is recommended. Also, a 512 MB compact flash card will allow only 160 pictures. The image stabalizer has worked well for me on slow shutter speeds. Finally, all my Maxxum lenses work with this camera

"I Was one of the 1st to BUY the 7D" on

Pros: I love my Maxxum 7D!, However, I purchased the 7D Body [$1,599.99!] ONLY, as I already had 4 Minolta Maxxum Lenses. Plus a Maxxum 7 film camera. I keep my 24-105 zoom Maxxum lens on for most Digital AND Film picture taking.

Cons: I have been Looking, but have not found a Con, Other then the FULL retail Price of $1,599.00! - Yet!

    "Simply Awesume" on by CBoyDave

Pros: Fast, feels great, clean-clear controls.

    Cons: Manuel is stuffed.

Summary: I have been waiting and already had several lens and 2 Minolta film cameras and had felt the 7D in my hands at a local store so I knew without any doubt I was going to love it! The new firmware really wakes it up fast on startup, file transfer ect... I did get the extremeIII card and it makes it that much more faster yet! The camera itself I could not be happier with!!
The manuel is always bouncing me back and forth between pages and that's the only thing I don't completely love about thus beauty. The colors, sharpness and spot focusing/metering Rock!! I was offered by Minolta to buy an extended warranty but I know their quality is second to none so I turned it down. I have alittle over a week and 223 shots now and could not ask for a better made/performing/ product.

"Great feel for D-slr" on by mccaintom

Pros: I like the solid feel of the controls

Cons: Waiting for rebate instead of lowering the price is a pain

Summary: So far it works with the 3 older zoom lenses. No complaints so far except the K-Minolta doesn't offer much technical help.
