The good: Solid ergonomics; plenty of photo fine-tuning options; useful array of automatic modes; versatile battery options; accepts lens converters.

The bad: No audio in video mode; many settings hidden in menus.

The bottom line: The Nikon Coolpix 4300 warrants strong consideration by sophisticated snapshooters looking for high quality and versatility at a reasonable price.

Review: Easy operation, comfortable ergonomics, and excellent photo quality make the 4-megapixel Nikon Coolpix 4300 an appealing buy for snapshot photographers. But there's more to this camera than simple point-and-shoot functionality, as its long list of features attests. "very satisfied after 4 years of intensive use" By dnenos

Pros: Image quality

Cons: menus hidden

Summary: I am using it for more than 4 years. Excellent photos. Resolution, colors, everything excellent. Very well built, I have it with me in every trip + at work. Now I am planning to buy a new one because I need a wide (28 or 24mm) camera.

"Good, reliable camera" By ps249

Pros: Compact, ergonomical, excellent photo quality, many scene modes to choose from

Cons: Uses lens cap, 5 second gap between taking pictures, menu can be quite the learning curve, 1.5"LCD monitor

Summary: I had this camera over 3 years now. It has never failed me yet. Takes stunning color photos. Some cameras I used- you needed to take about 5 or more shots to get the best shot. The 4300 only needs to take 2 shots to get the best quality photo. ... Expand full review
