Pros: Simple, Simple, Simple... Reliable, compact, and takes really good max res shots.

Cons: Battery life is critical, unless you keep a spare on the charger, when it's exhausted, you're done taking pictures.

Summary: In my job, I take a lot of photos for training purposes, I've used many digitals and even bought a few for work. For our personal camera, this 4800 was the best we could find for the money. The standout feature for us was the 8.3x optical zoom, it has really proven itself in the 3 months we've had it, having backed up our photo files yesterday and finding we have over 2400 shots since we got it. The only ones that were not good, were either 'operator error' or would have been worse with other less capable camera's and would've still been difficult shots with other, much more expensive and complicated digitals(SLR's).
Very pleased so far, now, we just need to get a spare battery...

"Just got it, very enthused so far..." on February 22, 2005

Pros: Picture quality is great. Nice features (Zoom,help-modes,etc). I am the ultimate point- and - shooter. This camera and I are going to get along just fine!

Cons: The auto-focus doesn't "lock" the first time with most of my shots. Still need to investigate whether it is me not using the right settings though...
