Quick Take: The Nikon Coolpix 4600 sits at the bottom of Nikon's x600 product line, the Nikon Coolpix 5600 sits right above it, and the Coolpix 7600 occupies the top spot. With the exception of the extra megapixel--the 4600 has 4 and the 5600 has 5--the first two models are identical. In addition to its 7-megapixel resolution, the 7600 has a better lens with ED glass elements (which makes it a bit heavier, as well) and face-priority autofocus mode. Different lenses and/or sensors will result in different photo quality across models.

Summary: Despite its small size and good looks, picture quality problems and a slow recycle time make it hard to like this Coolpix.
