"Awesome little camera!"
on by VtGuy4funPros Bright, clear, accurate colors, great battery life.
Cons The camera itself is a bit smaller than I like.
Summary I am amazed at how good all of my pictures come out! In every situation the pictures are always clear, bright and the colors are accurate. I went from a 5 megapixel to this 7.1 and WOW, I'm shocked by the difference in clarity. I find that Nikon has done something other brands need to think about more, battery life. My batteries seem to last longer on this camera than any of my last four digital cameras. The camera has a setting to that reduces/eliminates red eye,it works great, I've had only a couple of pictures with slight hint of red eye and what bit you can see of red eyes wasn't objectionable. I think once you get all of your settings in line, it's a great point and shoot digital camera, but I also think someone like my Mother would get a bit confused with the the menu and submenus for all of the available settings.(sorry Mom!) For the price and quality I think this little camera packs a punch and is well worth the money! I highly recommend this camera!

"Fantastic camera!"
on by sadhu05Pros Light, fully featured, 7 megapixels, excellent picture quality
Cons None found yet, except that they'll come out with a better camera for less in a few months, I'm sure.
Summary I don't know what camera the reviewers who mentioned poor low light focussing & the inability to portray purple accurately were using, but it couldn't have been the Nicon Coolpix 7600. I've put my new one through its paces thoroughly, & not only did not encounter either of these problems, I found this camera to be the best I have owned out of 4 digital point & shoot cameras.
This unit is incredibly light & compact, which I find a big plus. There are so many features it takes a week of study to go through them all. You can choose 3,5,7 normal, & 7 highest quality megapixels. There are numerous specific scene choices that really improve your pictures in those situations. The quality & resolution of the photos is absolutely excellent - crisp & clear even with zooming & large prints. It takes regular or NiMH or lithium AA batteries, which I like much better than custom batteries just for the unit. I have Monster batteries & a charger & this works great.
I highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants a point & shoot that takes professional quality pictures & that you don't even notice when you're carrying.
Almsot forgot - the price is right, too. -
"```Love this camera ```"
on by thumbelinasplacePros Great pictures
Cons Slow shutter speed?
Summary For the price at 350.00 you get a good camera. Great pictures. Easy to use and figure out all the dials on it. This is also a small camera, you can fit it into your shirt pocket. Only two things I didn't like about it were because it is so small if you don't watch where your finger is you end up with your finger over the flash, so you have to move your finger out of the way. The other is I think they call it slow shutter speed. When you take the picture it takes a second or so for the camera to flash and take the picture. So, it wouldn't be good for someone who needs pictures of the moment. Which I have lost out on because of that. But otherwise I really don't have a lot of those. Unless you are a professional or need a camera for the moment, this camera is well worth it!

"Not an SLR but a great versatile little camera"
on by Digi ManPros It has great options... and does take clear shots even in low light
Cons A bit complex at first... but I wanted options
Summary I shopped around a lot, visited numerous stores, and websites… This little camera is a good option… I don’t like the USB cable being propriety… but the battery options are awesome… On vacation if my lithium batteries go dead I can pick up a set of AA anywhere… Also takes better video than my digital video camera. You will need a fairly large SD card if you take super fine shots at 7 mega pixels

"SLOW, Old technology!!!!!"
on by ChxxHawkPros Lightweight, easy to use
Cons Skow, loaded with old technology...
Summary Not good for people with kids. I was told after I bought this by camera store that the 7600 is loaded with OLD technology. Only because I took it back on two differetn occasions trying to make it faster. It would take forever and a day to reload after taking a picture, even with Li-ion batteries and a fast 133x SD card, it made no difference. I was conned into this camera due to rebates, if you want a lightweight, slow camera and fairly easy to use, buy this, if you want a fast camera to keep up with kids, buy what I did the Canon A620 for about 20-50 dollars more.
