"Great results but some minor issues"
Pros: Great feel, pictures and intuitive controls
Cons: Slow writing and focus. Mode control too easily disturbed
Summary: I just spent two weeks with the camera on a Caribbean cruise shooting over 900 pictures. The results were good to great. The FUNC(tion) button is a very handy, programmable tool allowing rapid changes in settings. The downside is that the shot-to-shot speed at highest resolution was slow. I shut off review to speed things up. Low light focus not totally reliable but as the focus control is readily available, it was easy to compensate. Also, the camera strap kept changing the mode selector.
I used it mostly on the Aperature priority mode at ISO 100 only because this is my favorite mode. In automatic ISO and exposure the results were still good. It has a very good, solid feel, especially with the optional battery pack. The battery pack makes portrait pictures easier with the zoom and trigger easily available on it rather than the camera body. Make sure you lock the trigger on the pack when not using it as it is very easy to activate. Did get about 200 pictures with the pack and/or the internal with about 30% of them flash. Tried all of the modes with good to excellent results. The manual is reasonably good also.
Overall, a lot of camera to learn in the two days I had before we left. Having been a serious amateur photographer for many years I am usually overly critical of equipment and my own pictures. Not so in this case. I am well satisfied with the camera, technology and the results.
