"Pretty slick little camera"
Pros: Wifi, compact size, rechargeable battery, 8mp
Cons: Wifi feature not as expected
Summary: I love this camera.
However, the wifi feature is what initially attracted me to this camera, but it doesn't work as you may expect. The camera will connect to a computer through a wifi network, however I assumed the wifi feature would show up as a network device, but that is not the case. You need to install the host software on your wifi-enabled PC or Mac, then the camera can establish a wifi connection with the camera. And even then, the connection is not fast. I find myself bragging about the WiFi feature more then I actually use it and prefer to just use an SD card reader to get images off of the camera, which is MUCH faster and a lot less frusturating. The direct wireless printing to a Pictbridge-enabled printer is also very, very slow. The WiFi feature needs improvement before it will become actually useful.
That said, I am very happy with the rest of the camera. It's perfectly sized (small enough to impress people, large enough to use it easily). I've taken some excellent photos (and some video) with the P1 and am very happy. The resolution is incredible, the camera is easy to use, and the battery life is excellent too. The display is a big 2.5" LCD and is very bright and very sharp.
I would recommend this camera.
