"You can devolve from that high-dollar, clunky digital SLR and be very glad!" on by desertratchel
Pros: Plenty of modes for creativity, vibration reduction, wi-fi capability, razor-sharp images, Picture Project
Cons: A bit slippery to handle. And a case for the camera would have been nice.
Summary: I'm in love with this little baby! Images are crystal clear in any mode. Controls and features are well thought-out and simple to use. I bought this little camera as a supplement to my Canon EOS 1DS Mark II, and I find that I am reaching for the Nikon instead of the Canon even when the occasion calls for maximum creativity. I recently took this camera on a desert outing, and even in the middle of the day, when the sun bleached everything to a monotone, this camera picked up plenty of contrast and detected color invisible to the naked eye. With wi-fi capability, images are transferred easily to both my laptop and PictBridge-capable printer.

"Exceeds all expecations, too hot to handle(?.)" on by maratamilian
Pros: good picture quality, excellent clarity, impressive menus
Cons: Noise is quite noticable and high, battery heats the whole camera body pretty quickly, Vibration reduction is not great, WI-FI is still a pain
Summary: Camera lives upto the expectations. Picture quality and clarity are excellent. The battery heats up the camera body pretty quickly and it really gets warm ( too hot to handle !!!...). Vibration reduction seems to work on MOST OCCASIONS but NOT ALWAYS. WI-FI is still a pain. Noise is noticebly high in low-light shots. Overall a great product, with a lot of room for improvements. Upgrading from p1 to P3 is not recommended.

"High Quality Pictures, Poor Design, Slow wi-fi" on by jc654
Pros: Overall picture qualtiy is outstanding
Cons: Poor design, slow wi-fi, Nikon service is horrible
Summary: The pictures with the Coolpix P3 are great, but unfortunately that is where the good side ends. The cheap plastic design is problematic, and it started coming apart within two weeks; the following week the auto-focus stopped working. I sent the camera back to Nikon, where they repaired it within 2 weeks. The day that the camera was returned, I turned it on and then received a "lens error" and the camera lens is now stuck. The camera is back again to Nikon, and as of now they have had the camera in their possesion longer than I have.
If you still want to buy this camera, I would not get the P3 as the Wi-Fi is too slow to upload pictures. -
"Very Pleased" on by sashimi1
Pros: Quality,Ease of use,Wireless
Cons: Would like a little better Optical zoom, charger cord is bulky.
Summary: Photographs are stunning, make sure your subjects brush their teeth! The Camera is very user friendly.Love the special settings.Low light photography is impressive.Nikon could learn from Apple about power cords. The charger is small, however its connected to a bulky old fashioned cord and not great for travel. The written instructions for Wifi are very confusing. I used the utility on the CD to set up on a Mac.This was easy (If familiar with networking) and have not spent time trying to load to iphoto directly yet! I'm really pleased with this camera.

"The best camera I have owned so far." on by chlo13
Pros: Takes great pictures, has VR, and I love the WiFi, and not to mention it is 8.1 mp!
Cons: I don't have any cons for this camera at the moment
Summary: I really love this camera! This is the 4th Nikon camera I have owned and it is amazing! I think it takes awesome pictures of people as well as anything else you take a photo of! I only had one picture turn out blurry out of 100 pictures I took and it wasn't that bad! My Nikon 5200 I always had blurry pictures. Someone mentioned in their review that the battery got hot and I have never had that happen either! I love this camera and hope other people find it a joy to have one!
