"Not terrible like others may think" on by calligrapen09
Pros: Affordable Price
Not made in china
Simple and easy to use
Great for simple use at parties, social events
Great size, fits in pocket really wellCons: LCD Screen distorts actual picture, making people think that pictures are grainy or blurry
Few settings for manual use
Not an ideal camera for those who are really into photographySummary: This is an overall good camera at a very affordable price. People complain about blurry or grainy photos. Sometimes you get better results if you play around with the camera settings. From what I hear, people return any kind of camera thinking they're a piece of crap when they get bad results. This includes expensive fancy dslr cameras to simple point and shoot cameras like this. But the fact of the matter is, it's HOW you use the camera. I personally think that I have had great results with the Coolpix s220. I love still life and nature photography and here is some of my work:

"DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!" on by Hayleybaileyy2
Pros: Slim, cute, came in my favorite color, aqua!
Cons: Poor picture quality, took FOREVER to load and wouldn't focus.
Summary: Definitely not the worst camera but i gave it such a low rating because i was not pleased and it didn't do everything it claimed. I got some good pictures out of the camera, i'm not gonna lie but that was 1 out of 50 percent! It says it was shock proof and apparently it's not because my sister who is 4 grabbed it and dropped it, she's around 3 ft and it broke! Now it just says lens error and won't turn on. Shame on you Nikon.

"The S220 definitely has Warts but it is not a total POS" on by jonnthomas
Pros: Cheap (I bought it used on EBAY for $31.00) Decent sized LCD... The MACRO feature works well (After you figure it out)
Cons: Quirky Features... Baffling controls
Summary: I have figured out how to get decent pictures out of this camera... but it was painful...

"Poor picture quality" on by clanpiper
Pros: Nice size.
Cons: Much poorer picture quality than the S210 it replaced.
Summary: I typically like Nikon, but they do sometimes put out substandard products. This is one of them.
