"Amazing daytime pics, not so much at night." on by Aiyaness
Pros: -Small and easy enough to use.
-Takes amazing pictures during the day, whether indoor or outdoor.
-Has a metering button, where you can determine light intake.
-Gives you the ability to choose image size.Cons: -Night time images have a yellow hue to them.
-In the dark images can be slightly grainy.
-Sometimes they're blurred for no reason :s.Summary: My dad got me this camera as a birthday present after years of using an old canon 5 mxpls one.
It was exactly what I wanted. Takes artistic photos but is still easy enough to use, even for a 6 year old. I took pictures of trees in the fall outside, of my can indoors and it worked perfectly.
Come nighttime though, I noticed that -even in a well lit room- without the usage of flash, images had a yellow hue to them. I reread the manual but it didn't mention anything.
Also.
In the dark. Or Dark-ish even. Images were slightly grainy. Even without zooming. That took me by surprise.
What I really loved about the camera was the light intake button. Really gives you a chance to experiment and get creative. -
"Not really worth it..." on by Pupster59
Pros: Takes great video.
Cons: Still shots with any movement are blurred. Even took it back to the dealer to see if I had screwed up the settings...nope.
Summary: I'm going back to my old Canon PowerShot S40. It may be big and heavy in comparison the the Coolpix but the quality is much better. When the Canon is on Auto, it's a true point and shoot. The Coolpix is not.
Not worth the price for me.
