"convenient, sharp, a pleasure"
on by sircutbreakerPros wifi, scroll wheel, ease of use
Cons sometimes blurry, power button
Summary i have had this camera for quite a few months. the wifi is the most convenient feature. After a photo session, you switch to wifi mode and press the wheel twice and the pictures appear in a folder.. the camera is very easy to use. the power button is a little inconvenient, but its functional and not that big of a deal. i have a waterproof bag and i take it surfing a lot...i have many great pictures and movies from this camera. i have taken it to costa rica and puerto rico and the rainforests and i have nothing but good things to say about the general ease of use and picture quality of this machine.

The camera will take blurry shots if it is not set correctly... If you are going to take a close up, use the macro lens setting.. If you choose the right setting for the picture you are trying to take, you will find that the camera works extremely well.Updated

"Not a camera expert, and it does a great job for what I use it for"
on by heybijerPros menu functions are easy to understand and scroll through, video mode works great, love the WiFi
Cons buttons are tiny and having trouble taking decent low-light shots
Summary So far my wife and I love the camera. It is easy to navigate and has lots of bells and whistles. It is so small that it fits right in you pocket and you wouldn't even notice (which could be a problem I guess). Time will tell with this one. There is still a lot to learn about it, which is a big plus.

"Excellent pocket camera"
on by lesmizPros Compact size, LARGE LCD, picture quality, video, Wi-Fi transfer
Cons Small on/off button, delay on/off time
Summary Bought this camera for my wife. She has used it on many occasions such as trips (Paris), baby pictures, and quick shots. She carries with her in her purse and it's the perfect size.
Only gripe is the on/off button. If you got large fingers, you can't always feel if you had pushed it. And the delay on the on/off (about 1-2 seconds) makes you think you didn't press it. Other than that, the camera is supberb. I used the wi-fi option to transfer all of the files, works pretty smoothly.
I also had used Nikon support (online) for some questions on USB transfers, and they were very efficient and answered my questions.
BTW, the photos on CNET is incorrect. The Nikon S6 is much slimer and compact. Not sure how to contact CNET to fix this...Updated
Took over 1000 pictures with this little guy...Still a fantastic camera. If you are looking for a simple, automatic, and easy-to-carry camera, this is a great buy..Especially the 3 inch LCD screen. If you want lots of manual control and customized settings, get something else...
P.S. CNET updated the photos and it is now showing the real Coolpix S6 model! -
"Perfect ultracompact camera"
on by oscarKerryPros Great sharp pictures, accurate colors, large LCD screen, WI-FI
Cons I did not find any
Summary I love this camera. I tried canon SDs, Sony Cybershots they don't even come close to this one. I use WI-FI feature to load pictures to my computer it's pretty fast. In Micro mode you can actually use zoom. This camera is for those who know how to take pictures. To gain best results you really need to take advantage of different modes such as portrait, landscape etc.
