Which camera would you suggest any ameture user to buy (except SLR cameras)?<br><br>I was planning to buy one and thought the specs of S6 Nikon to be attractive.<br><br>Thanks

I work in a camera store and a few weeks ago I sold a Nikon S6. Last week the customer came back saying that when the full zoom was utilized, the flash didn't work well. I looked up the stats myself in the manual and with the full zoom, the flash only goes out like 5 feet which is really bad. I was looking to get a new camera and was thinking about the S6 but now I think I'm going to get the Canon Powershot SD550

The wifi only seems to work with the special Nikon software that must be loaded on a computer or thru the special print receiver supplied by Nikon. I was hoping for something simple and to just be able to send a pic from the camera since I carry a company laptop.

Everyone who slams an ultra compact digicam always has the same gripes: controls too small, no viewfinder, no manual controls, poor low-light performance, etc.<br><br>For the love of God, they are ultra compacts afterall. All ultracompacts from all manufacturers have the same flaws; it is only because of their extreme small size. <br><br>Sure, there are other small cameras with better features, including viewfinders, but if you look carefully at the specs, THEY ARE LARGER, even the Canon Powershots. <br><br>In short, don't be an as*hole and slam perfectly good cameras. Keep inmind the limitations of ultra compact cameras AND their target audience: amateur photographers on vacation, who want to, just as their monkier describes, "point and shoot." <br><br>If you complain about the lack of viewfinder and professional features, i.e. manual settings, then get an SLR body or larger camera.<br><br>Review these ultra compacts for what they are, because as it stands, they are simply too small to have these features that so many complain about a lack thereof.<br><br>Next someone will complain about the lack of fisheye and telephoto lenses for compact cameras.

Please back up your comments with facts when doing a comparison.
