"Disappointing. I was looking for HIGH quality pictures." on by fmzamoranod

Pros: Its looks and features and functions are awesome.
It looks sleek and fancy. The whole user interface with a touch screen is just superb.
Good speed, easy to use, very intuitive.
In the 'pretty and easy to use' department.. Nikon got it right.

Cons: The quality of pictures is not what I expected. I am getting a similar quality from my 5+ years old 3MP camera, the one I was trying to replace.

Summary: By no means I am a professional photographer. I am merely an ?end user? that was looking for a high quality point and shoot camera that would get me ?clear? pictures all the time.

While in many situations it got good pictures (good? only) in others the quality was definitely below an acceptable mark. Out of focus or ?granular? pictures.

I did not buy a $99 because I was looking for high quality, in particular for the 'Images'.

Its looks are great, and its features and functions are just awesome. Nikon just needs to get its lenses/focusing engine right.

"Worst Nikon Product I have ever purchased" on by kteslia

Pros: It is a 'cool' camera with features like the touch screen, making it 'iPod' or 'iPhone' like in the ability to flip pics and truly point, touch and shoot. Large megapixel count and optical zoom SHOULD capture great pics.

Cons: I have had compact digital's since they were first introduced. This is by far and away the worst image for the megapixel count that this camera is supposed to have. Might be a bad camera, but Nikon doesn't care.

Summary: Compact digital cameras are point and shoot. Any one that wants the features of a digital SLR should buy a digital SLR. My experience with this camera using it as a point and shoot is that the picture quality is extremely grainy and clarity of pics are poor. This is my experience brand new out of the box. Thinking that there my be a fault in the software I contact Nikon customer service, they suggest a number of different shooting modes, which improves the quality marginally and finally tell me to send it in for service. I bought a brand new camera and I don't want service. I want a brand new Camera. The quality of the Nikon name no longer carries the same clout and high standard it once did. My advise to anyone buying a digital compact is DO NOT BUY online, go to the store try the camera and buy it if you are satisfied with the picture quality. I am basically going to give this camera to one of my kids and restart the whole process (excluding Nikon from the decision tree).

"Awful camera. Very disappointing." on by lelasf

    Pros: Good size camera.

Cons: Terrible focus, even when i don't use the zoom. Out of almost 3000 pictures got about 10 good pic (maybe).

Summary: I got this camera for our trip to Europe. 99% of my pictures where terrible!!!. It was so upsetting that took me three weeks after the trip to even consider downloading them to my computer. I am really disappointed. I will never buy another Nikon. In fact, right after we arrived from our trip my husband got a cannon. We did no wanted to take any chance with this camera on the 4th of July!

"I've had better." on by sassy80186

Pros: One tap to snap a photo, good zoom.

    Cons: Mine won't turn on.

Summary: I bought this in December, that was 5 months ago. As of this past week whenever I try to charge the camera it won't hold a charge! The light comes on like it is charging, but when I turn it on it says battery exhausted! This really upsets me because I usually don't buy expensive things like this so spending close to $300 on a camera is crazy for me. Seriously my fuji film camera I got 6 years ago still works and this doesn't.

"Must Not Get This." on by miniwanjimmy

Pros: The touch screen and all the settings makes this such a 'cool' camera.

Cons: Terrible. Awful. Horrific. I've never got such a bad camera ever before. Even a 120+/- camera can be much better than this.

Summary: For some reason this camera Never focuses. I tried all settings. And it simply does not focus. It looks OKAY on the screen but after importing it on the computer you will be terrified.

So the result of that: All portraits of myself and family members after a 2 week long US trip. All photos are out of focus. The people are blurred. I am just disappointed that Nikon would produce such low quality camera. I tried all settings and none of them does anything better. In addition I do not want to be trying out 15 mode settings each time I have to take a photo.

Also it is impossible to ask someone else to help you take a photo. The other person will always either touch somewhere on the screen and go frustrated, or their fingers will get in the camera lens. In addition, there is this function called 'touch focus' and obviously you have to touch somewhere to focus it. Due to that, from now on every time I take a photo I have to TOUCH the place of focus and then take the photo. The problem with this is I never seem to be able to touch the right spot because the touch screen isn't that good.

Overall this camera looks really cool with that massive screen, but if you don't want to look like a total idiot and take loads of photos for everyone and realize all the photos are blurred and out of focus after one long trip, then don't get this camera.

Do not get this camera. You will regret it.
