Pros: Good quality photos and video, when working.

Cons: Obvious issues that Nikon must know about but doesn't fix prior to manufacture and sale.

Summary: It had potential, but failed due to technical issues.
Bought brand new and had to return it twice for the same issue: time & date memory. First time returned was 1 month after purchase, as the internal memory would not hold the time/date. Returned & received another brand new camera. Same problem again!! Retn'd to Nikon for repair of time/date issue. It was still under warranty so all I had to do was pay for shipping it to them. Since the repair, I have not had this problem. If that is the case, and it appears from researching a lot of people are having the same problem, NIKON- FIX THE ISSUE BEFORE YOU PUT IT ON THE SHELF FOR CONSUMER PURCHASE!!

Now that the time/date issue is resolved, I have a 'Lens Error' issue. The lens is stuck open and the camera doesn't function. I take good care of my camera, so I'm not sure why this happened. Again, it appears the Lens Error issue is a problem for people. I returned it to Nikon. Unfortunately, it's no longer under the 1 year warranty (camera is 1 year, 2 months old) and they want $106 to repair and return. When the camera cost $200, that is just not right.

When working, the camera takes good photos and video. I was happy with it when it was working.
Good functionality, 14 MP, auto and manual settings options, and others.

Pros: Really great pictures, lots of options.

Cons: 2nd lens failure, Sent for repair 13 months after purchase ($180.00) 3 months later same thing.
After repair, I never carried it without it being in a case and kept it stored in the case and in a gallon freezor bag when I wasnb't using it.

Summary: I wish I had bought a different camera.

DO NOT BUY A COOLPIX IF YOU WANT A CAMERA THAT YOU CAN CARRY !!!

Pros: Good picture quality

Cons: P.O.S!! Camera. I paid 280 bucks 4 months ago and now they want to charge me to have it repaired? A little shady to me.
