"The pro´s first choice..."
Pros: Superior contrast range, speed, focus, lens availability....
Cons: Sensor conversion factor
Summary: This is by far the best professional digital SLR out. I did a comparison with the 1Ds MkII, and Nikon won out in both print size/quality, and color rendition. It is by far superior in contrast range, and it gives you a two for one option with 12.4 mp at 5 fps, and 6.8 mp at 8 fps. Tested it for sports and nature photography, and if you know your lenses, the autofocus is unbeatable. I can see that amateurs are having trouble with lens choices, so they cannot use the autofocus as well, and some are simply not bright enough to figure out the conversion factor of 1.5X, which allows for a 16mm equivalence for wide angle. If you know your lenses and your math, this is as good as it gets.
You also have image layering, up to 9 layers, which allows for some amazing shots in the most difficult of environments.
People who have given this camera a negative review do not know what they are doing with the camera. Buy the proper lenses and accessories and let this baby take you to new heights.

The review is excellent and very accurate..one thing is missing though. If the camera had a 1.3 crop factor than it would be the "PERFECT" camera.
