"Great body, supported by great lenses."
Pros: Full frame 35mm size sensor.
Cons: None that I can see
Summary: Your comparison camera in Canons should have been the EOS 5D, which is a lot closer to the price and specifications of the Nikon D3 than the 1Ds Mark 3. I have a Canon 5D and it is a fairly good camera let down badly by average quality lenses.
I have been a professional photographer for 40 years and have always found Nikon lenses to be far superior to Canons.
I will be changing over from the Canon to the Nikon D3 and Nikon/Nikor lenses as soon as I can, as I require a full 35mm frame sensor camera.

I can see some of the virtures in the new Nikon camera, but I can't let your comments on the Canon lenses pass unchallenged. Are we talking regular EOS or L-series? I switched from Nikon to Canon L-series some years ago (mainly becasue I liked Canon's camera ergonomics much better) and have no issues with lens quality. I certainly would rather wait for what Canon does to update the 5D rather than switch to Nikon when I have great L-series lenses.
