Cons No time-laps, video, live preview or panorama futures, shutter lag and viewfinder blackout when taking a shot, only 3 AF points, No status LCD, Eye sensor (turns off LCD display), Slower with noise reduction system on
Summary I had the camera for almost a year and it performs pretty good, no mechanical or software based problems whatsoever. The camera went through the desert, rain, and once left outside for 3 days in the winter weather, and it's still performs as I just took it out from the box. I would expect little more futures from the entry level DSLR like in camera panorama or video option as the point and shot cameras do have them. The camera menu is very ease to navigate, the screen very easy to read and camera controls are in right places, Active D lightning does a great job. The camera support RAW, JPEG and RAW+JPEG formats, the 3 fps in RAW burst is awesome, but if you shooting football game where more frames per second are needed JPEG shooting mode is recommended. You can find a big variety of products on the market that will fit the camera, from lenses to battery grips and external flash units. If you have a Eye-Fe wifi card it will work hand to hand with the camera. Surprisingly this camera is a hybrid between entry level and pro-summer cameras. If you getting in to photography field I recommend this camera before you get a professional one. The camera will definitely change the way you take pictures, and show you a new wold as you see it. Next are the notes to Nikon (not that they read them)
Features like read out LCD and port for wired remote would be a great plus, also a built in electronic level (like canon 7d, or ipods with gravity sensors) would eliminate a need of bubble levels on tripods and cameras. In camera 360 panorama would be awesome future that no one has, time lapse and video support is a must!
Pros Great shots, and plenty of options yet easy to use
Cons Image stabilization placed on the lens rather than the body
