"It's a great camera" on
Summary: I had the Olympus C-2000Z, which I loved, and recently bought the C-4040Z. It is outstanding. The picture quality, especially in low light, the features and its ease of use are all excellent. Contrary to other opinions, the menu is very simple to use after a very short orientation.

"Total Enjoyment" on
Summary: I also did some research and own OM1,OM2N and a GL. The 1.8 lens is super bright. There maybe cheaper cameras out there but this is super for me. The macro mode is perfect. I bought this just before a trip to Ireland. Check it out!!! http://photos.yahoo.com/jryoung1947

"Incredible picture quality, difficult to learn settings." on
Summary: Although this camera is not the easiest to learn to use, once you do, the pictures are incredible. High color saturation, great detail, very high resolution. Printed manual is all but useless but the online manual is helpful

"THE BEST 4.1 for the money" on
Summary: I own an olympus c4040 and I've had other digital cameras, nothing compares to the quality of olympus. First allow me to say that I SELL these cameras at the #2 retailer in the country and I have been selling them for 4 years. here are the facts, the 4040 has 32 mb of buffer memory, most don't, it has 10 lenses within the camera most tote and average of 7, the spot metering is unmatched by any other camera other than the nikoncoolpix5000, its small gives, and the camera gives you REAL SLR quality. The macro mode is better than anything I've ever seen, its ability to focus with the highest amount of detail is in my opinion unmatched by any camera. The menu is easy to navigate through and is str8 forward, it may seem complicated to some but thats only because everything is at your fingertips and its very functional. I could go on and on and on about this camera but, I've said enough. If your going to buy a camera buy one from a camera company like Olympus, canon, and nikon. If your buying an olympus if you want outrageous quality stick to the C-series, in canon stick to the G-series and in nikon stick to the 900 and 5000 series.

"QC problems??" on
Summary: I own a D490 and have taken over 1000 pics with no problems. Bought the C4040 to get pictures with higher resolution. What I got was porblems. The first camera developed pixel problems with the LCD display after 2 weeks. I returned it for another. The second one developed a dark spot on scenic pics against a bright sky. The dealer thought it was a lens problem. I returned it for a refund. Thank goodness, I dealt with a reputable authorized dealer. I think Olympus has some serious quality problems and will wait for better models perhaps with another brand. This experience lasted 2 months and was a pain...it did end well however.
